Although it appears that I am humanitarian in many ways (being a woman and all),
I must say though that human rights sometimes have its limits, as far as I am concerned.
Oh, sure, I am all for humanitarianism but it does sometimes sorely test my patience as an annoying
song I heard that refuses to leave my brain.. Enter Achy, Breaky Heart ...
There is a very big misconception out there that Australia is the "Land of Convicts". We have had our share of
indentured people and genuine migrants over the last two hundred years or so. Let's just say that our roots
were planted by corrupt capitalist governments who had no other strange island to put their populace.
Pauline Hanson is stupid. Full stop. How she thinks we are going to be overrun by Asians, I don't know.
I am sure she would have gotten her facts from some reliable source like the Australian Bureau of Statistics - Hah! a Likely story!
She sees are international students hanging out at shopping centres and that is too much for her thespian brain to handle and all of a sudden, we are in
the middle of an Asian invasion. If she would only look as far past her nose, she would actually realise that these
people are here for an education, not a green card. Most of these people have been denied a fair go in their own
countries! If they have money to spend, why not let them? Clearly Ms Hanson has not had a degree in Economics, or she would
keep her trap shut and come up with some real policies besides xenophobic cultural extermination.
Let's forget this silly woman for a second and look to the genuine people wanting to come in - subjected to
large application fees, worrying about getting enough
points to meet the migration criteria, being a member of a "wanted" profession, being the right age, etc and being
subjected to medical tests, and police clearance etc etc. You get the drift. This process takes years and years to
go through, and good on those who get a chance to live in this great country of ours!
And now I come to the refugees. There are some who are genuine refugees who come in and work hard.
The reason why they are successful is due to their perseverance and that they have been subjected to poverty.
Not some lame ass cow running for parliament and her claim to fame is a fish and chip shop and her fellow man
who thinks that the dole is akin to an inheritance from the government.
Then there are the stupid refugees. The ones who jump queue by paying a shitload of money to some unscrupulous
dealers so they can get on a boat and float to Broome or wherever. You have money, come in the normal way. Take a number!!
You don't see them trying to muscle their way into Australia via Darwin, do you? If they want to come via Broome, go
ahead. If you escaped, you would just die in the desert anyway if you tried to escape. Nature's consolation prize to us
Australians. Those who are lucky enough to be housed in a detention centre get accommodation, language lessons for free,
mind you, and complain about their accommodation. What do you want, a free house? If you wanted luxury, go home and get a job. Or better still. Indonesia can take you. They
turn a blind eye to these boats, they can take them back. We may be sympathetic, but are not a charity, you know.
Don't even try to protest by sewing your eyes and lips shut, or setting yourself on fire, or even ruining our detention
centres with riots. It just highlights how mentally unstable you are to start off with and how it demonstrates to
the government that you are far from being an asset to society. You drain our hospital resources by getting the doctors to work on you
and get hospitalisation for free (again). If I was the government, I'd personally look at your application and just stamp
"crackpot" on it and send you home. We don't have sweatshops here in Australia. You won't get a job here anyway.
Then there are the morons who apply for Permanent Residency or Business migration visas. And the government generously gives it to you
where you have to be in Australia for a minimum of 2 out of 5 years. Well I don't know about the rest of you, but
that is sufficient to actually come in, educate the critters, and leave the country with a massive HECS debt
outstanding to the government. Their parents can sell up their houses and not incur capital gains tax because
of the sole principal residence exemption while taking advantage of property appreciation. Win win. Even better for the bsuiness migrants,
they come in, do not establish a business, get sent home, AND the government gives them back their money!!
